ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT ABSTRACTS: DECEMBER 25, 2025

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING ABSTRACT

General Guidelines:

  • All abstracts must be submitted through the official IASO-MIDCON 2026 website.
  • IASO membership number is mandatory for submission of abstracts.
  • To log on to the submission site, you will have to create a username and password.
  • It is mandatory to register for the conference to submit an abstract.
  • Abstracts can be submitted for paper, poster, or video presentation
  • The abstract should not be more than 300 words.
  • One abstract will be considered for one award category only – Best Oral Paper, Best Poster, Best Video
  • Once the abstract is submitted, no revisions/editing will be allowed. Authors have the option to save the abstracts as a draft in case they feel that the abstract needs to be reworked on.
  • Inappropriately structured or incomplete abstracts will not be accepted
  • Notification regarding acceptance of the submission along with the guidelines for presentation will be sent to the author through email provided while submitting the abstract. Please enter valid and working email address for the same.
  • The scientific committee reserves the right to accept/reject / assign a different presentation type to all the abstracts submitted

Abstracts should contain the following subheadings:

  • Background and Introduction (include aims and objectives)
  • Methods (include statistical analysis if applicable)
  • Results
  • Conclusion

Video Abstracts to contain the following headings:

  • Background/Introduction
  • Case Details
  • Technique of Surgery demonstrated
  • Conclusion

  • Lower GI Cancer
  • Gynaecological Cancer
  • Genito-urinary Cancer
  • Pediatric oncology
  • Musculoskeletal Cancer

Guidelines for Video submissions:

  • Video abstracts should preferably be on Standard techniques of established procedures, innovative techniques used to treat common or complex problems, interesting cases or demonstrations, or new therapies or applications for a specific disease site.
  • Videos will be considered on first come first served basis to avoid repetition.
  • Promotional videos (personal or commercial) will not be considered.
  • Video format should be in mp4
  • Duration of video should not exceed 5 min
  • Size of the video should not exceed 1 GB
  • Suggestion for video presentation on TV: The most common PowerPoint aspect ratio for 50” TV display on modern screens is 16:9, corresponding to a pixel dimension of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD).
  • Audio voice-over is preferable but not mandatory.
  • The Presenter will have to present the video at the conference

Poster Guidelines:

  • Orientation: Use a Portrait (Vertical) format for your poster.
  • Title and authors: Clearly display the title and all authors at the top of the board.
  • Readability: Ensure all text is readable from a distance of at least three feet, with a minimum font size of 22 pt (3/8″ high) recommended. Use bold, dark print on a light background.
  • Organization: Organize your content into clear sections like Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
  • Visuals: Use charts, drawings, and illustrations similar to those used in PowerPoint slides. When using photographs, have them processed with a matte or dull finish.
  • Self-explanatory design: The poster should be understandable on its own, allowing you to focus on answering questions during the session.
  • Contact information: Clearly print one email address on your poster for attendees to use if they have questions when you are not present.
  • Presentation and logistics Setup: Posters should be set up before the event starts and removed after the presentation is over.
  • Availability: At least one of the authors must be present during the poster session to discuss the work with attendees.
  • Placement: All posters are to be displayed in the indicated event hall.
